Etch Mag on hold over the holidays...

Hi guys

Just a quick note and blog post to let you know that Etch Magazine NZ will be on hold over the christmas period and will be re-opening with the launch of their all new website in February 2010. I hope you have enjoyed our magazine so far this year and I look forward to working with you all next year. Travel safe and have a happy new year! :)

Got a crazy money saving idea? Send in your video and win!

Three students from the University of Otago are competing in the 'Global Innovation Tournament' organised by Stanford University. In association with the team at PocketSmith.com, they imagined a web platform allowing people from all around to world to share their videos showing how to 'Make Savings Money Fun'.

People are invited to upload 30 second videos illustrating their ideas to save money at http://crazysavers.heroku.com/. The most creative and imaginative videos will be rewarded with prices to be won by popular votes. So what are you waiting for? Some Great prizes are up for grabs.

The Etch Business Book Club! Coming 2010

Etch Magazine are gathering motivated professionals for their all new Business Book Club starting early 2010. Twelve inspiring and educational business books will be allocated for each month of the year to be read throughout the year by members of the group. The Book Club will start in March 2010 and will be held monthly with a focus on the chosen business book where we will highlight the books key points and hold discussions as to how it can immediately be applied to your business.

Adam Bennett for Young New Zealander of the Year

Adam Bennett is the creater and founder of one of New Zealand's top entertinament and promotional events companies, and also one of the countries finest young men. Adam Bennett has now been nominated for Young New Zealander of the year 2009. This is for all the hard work he has put into creating the biggest, best, and safest events for you and I. His events have no fights, no arrests, and no drink driving charges or accidents. He takes great care in making sure we are all safe. Added to this, Adam has done numerous work for charity on his own bat, with his own time and money, and has asked nothing in return.

His last birthday he asked all the guests to bring a food parcel instead of a door charge, and gave $55,000 worth of food to the Salvation Army. As a commemoration to his work Aaron Caville and close friends have created a facebook group as a forum for the New Zealand to know of the good things Adam has done. To support and nominate Adam join the 'Adam Bennett for Young New Zealander of the Year' group....

Etch Magazine NZ is asking New Zealand’s young creatives to design the new logo for the all official Etch Magazine Young Business Network being launched in February 2010. This new business network has been designed and developed to inspire, support and promote New Zealand’s young business owners and their businesses. The Business Network will have its own active website and online community complete with the following:

• Member Sign up and Login
• Membership Benefits
• Online Members Directory
• Member Forum
• Online Magazine used for Member promotion (Etch Magazine)
• And more…
